WRITING
As a writer for WholeFoods Magazine, my feature stories and reviews on health, beauty, and food reached over 15K subscribers. I represented the editorial team at national expos, conducted research, and interviewed local farmers, grocers, and health professionals.
As a writer for the School of Visual Arts, I documented professional milestones of notable alumni, faculty, and staff. I produced byline articles for the nationally distributed Visual Arts Journal.
CONTENT DESIGN and STRATEGY
Backpack Full of Cash
Narrated by Matt Damon, this feature-length documentary explores the privitization of public schools and its impact on America’s children.
Design Challenge: Stone Lantern Films and Turnstone Productions required content strategy to raise $34,000 for the film’s finishing fees.
Discovery: I met with various communities involved in the documentary and extensively researched education reform.
Process: Data collected in discovery helped me identify missed opportunities. I developed a content strategy, style guide, and timeline that worked for stakeholders and organically grew BFC’s social media presence. Engaging and effective email/kickstarter campaigns solicited donations and sparked fruitful conversations.
Results: We raised over $34,000 and established fifteen successful partnerships with institutions including the Ford Foundation.
CONTENT DESIGN for BEST BUY
Shop With an Expert
Creating delight is something I truly enjoy about content design. We can highlight what’s best about a new service while generating joy and excitement.
Design Challenge: The Shop With an Expert (SWAE) landing page needed to communicate the new and exciting benefits of virtual shopping help.
Discovery: Collaboration, research, and user testing, were key to designing the SWAE experience.
Process: As part of the SWAE leadership team, my content strategy emphasized fun and convenience. I created a style guide for XD and iterated with marketing to advise on the developing Virtual Store Style Guide.
Results: By the end of Q2, traffic increased from 75K to 91.3K visits.
CHAT GREETINGS
Chat conversations allow us to meet customer needs quickly. Welcoming entry points that inform and reassure create trust. Effective chat greetings immediately provide workable solutions for service and communication.
NAMING
Best Buy Bot
This two-screen flow represents strategic planning. The objective was to create title consistency for our bot within chat experiences like Apple messages. We landed on Best Buy Bot after collaborating with leadership and our legal team.
PARSONS X NEWARK SCHOOL of FASHION and DESIGN
This Forbes featured curricular project, exemplifies the benefits of creating content that connects communities and institutions. I was invited to design the curricular vision for this innovative partnership based in my home state of New Jersey. I crafted a content strategy, vision statement, and brand story. NSFD will graduate its inaugural class in 2025.
SPEAKING and COMMUNITY
I have been a featured speaker on several panel discussions and webinars including Health is Wealth (Luminary, 2023), an interactive discussion on health and wellness for female entrepreneurs; and Leveraging the Arts for a Healthier & Just America (Harvard, 2021)—a webinar exploring the impact of the arts on public health.
COMMEMORATING COVID
Memory Overture is a soundscape memorial documenting the impact of Covid 19. This project continues the work of Memory Opus which began in 2020 as an oral history initiative and later grew to encompass a variety of documentary forms: interview, diary, memoir, visual art, music, and portraiture.
